Our Birth Right to be Artists
"I am working on my art business, I don't look for jobs anymore" I declare to my friend when she asks me about my further career path after quitting my job.
I had finally decided to leave my soul-sucking job and pursue my path as an artist. My friend's response hit me like a punch in the gut. "Art business doesn't exist," she writes back.
I knew this path would be challenging, but her words cut me to the core. I didn't expect her, or anyone, to fully understand my choice. But I also didn't expect such a dismissive response without arguments.
I stopped letting anyone's limitations of thinking limit my own. I know that the art business not only exists, but is thriving. Countless artists are making a living through their craft, and more importantly, they are using their art to share powerful messages with the world.
Art is not just a means of making a living, but a way of expressing oneself and making a difference. It is a way to evoke emotions, challenge stereotypes, and ignite change.
Art is Powerful and Artists Can Spread the Word
The transformation of culture from the oldest times originated from the realm of art. It is only through the creative minds of artists that culture can be influenced in an indescribable manner. A mere glimpse into the art history will validate this.
Art is powerful. From its beginnings, it had a transformative impact on cultures and human soul. That is one of the main reason why I decided to dedicate my life to art. I am an artist. The first time I dared to call myself an artist was when I realized that that's exactly what I did all my life. I created. I never stopped, even though I thought many times that I had. After a long search, I found my path. My path is creation.
The only definition of an artist is the one he believes in. I believe that an artist is a master of the senses, a magician who can transport others to worlds beyond their imagination. His art is seen, felt, tasted, heard, and smelled. His creation is an experience, an escape, a journey into the very depths of the human being. An artist is not just a painter who plays with colors and calls it a profession, he is a storyteller, a messenger, a conduit for the human experience. Each stroke of his brush is a piece of him, a reflection of his triumphs and overcoming. Art is not who an artist is. Art is only the medium he puts in the world his message with.
Why am I an Artist?
I am an artist because art is the way I can best express my deepest beliefs. And my deepest belief is that everyone has beauty to unveil. Each of us is worthy of discovering that beauty and share it with the world.
I am an artist because, from a young age, art saved me. In a world filled with agony, poverty, and suffering, art brought me solace and joy. It was my only refuge from a harsh reality, a sanctuary where I could escape and find peace. Whether it was through writing, floral compositions, sewing, origami, paper quilling, or later on, painting and sketching, art was my lifeline.
Art helped me discover my true self, my deepest desires, fears, and wounds. It was through art that I found my connection with God. With every stroke of the brush or pen, I felt a sense of acceptance, love, and adoration. It was a world where I could be myself, where I was free to express my thoughts and emotions without judgment.
I am an artist because I believe that everyone has a God inside him. And art is the medium that brings us closer to him. I don't believe God is in religions, he is in us, and we can choose to invite him every day into our lives through creating.
Through my art, I aim to evoke God inside us and connect with the complexity of human being on a deeper level. Through my art, I want to inspire people to ignite their senses, to make them see, feel, and experience their inner world in a whole new way.
I believe that every artist has a voice. With a voice rich in emotion and depth, I hope that my voice inspires people to look deeper into their being and find who they are. Art is my medium to spread beauty, love, and hope to the world, one stroke at a time.
Why I Strongly Believe That Everyone is an Artist?
Art is not just about the final product, it's about the process. It's about the journey of self-discovery. And we are all on that journey, that's why we are all artists. We are meant to discover ourselves, finding creative ways for doing it. We are meant to connect with ourselves and the world we live in.
Likewise, we are all artists in our own right, with our own canvas waiting to be filled with our own unique stories.
You are an artist too. You, like me, were born one. Do you already feel it?
