Layers of Change: The Metamorphosis of Human and Artistic Being

New Discoveries, New Possibilities

Have you ever experienced a profound shift that changed everything you believed about yourself and your art? I certainly did—and quite recently!

As an emerging artist, I explored various subjects, but nothing intrigued me more than figurative painting. I felt an irresistible urge to paint portraits, particularly of women. I was certain: I am a portrait painter.

Later in my art career, exploring new subjects led me to abstract art. I created a series of three abstract paintings, and the outcome captivated me! It felt like a completely different world—a dimension I had never explored before. For the first time, I was genuinely interested in abstract creation.

Yet, curiosity soon gave way to the familiar comfort of portraits. "You are a portrait painter," my mind insisted, clinging to the safety of the known.

The Transformational Experiment

This conviction held until one day when I stumbled upon an old canvas stored away in a corner of my studio—a relic from past experiments. With no set plan, I began adding layer upon layer of paint; each seemed like an adventure into the unknown, a journey that started to intrigue me.

To my delight, each layer sparked my imagination in unexpected ways. I rediscovered a dormant passion and felt as if I was tapping into my soul's deepest places. This revelation guided me toward an important decision for the year to come.

A Year of Dedication to my Inner World

Because abstract art touched my deepest self and I loved the feeling of bringing something completely from within me into the world, I decided to dedicate the year 2025 to this newfound passion. This year will be an exploration of abstract art and floral themes, reflecting my commitment to express whatever emerges from within me.

The Transformation of Metamorphosis

What happened to the seemingly idle canvas from my studio's corner? It evolved into "Metamorphosis," a vibrant emblem of transformation. This painting resonated with more people that I could ever imagined!

It became a reminder not only of the evolution of the artwork itself but also of human growth. It became a reminder to embrace change and discover potential, even when we are tightly bound to existing labels of identity.

I've realized that true transformation lies not just in adding layers, but in uncovering hidden potential where we least expect to come out of us.

Have you ever uncovered a hidden potential within yourself that transformed your perspective on who you are and what you can and can't do?

P.S. The painting already has found its home!
